AI CAD: from a plain-language brief to a checked, dimensioned design
AI CAD turns a short written brief into parametric geometry, dimensions and a drawing sheet, then has agents check the design against codes, clashes and loads before an engineer signs off. Every suite has a design for its industry, from an engine mount bracket to a 40 m lattice tower.
Start with the brief
The input is a sentence an engineer would write anyway: an engine mount bracket for a 2.4 kN limit load with four M8 fasteners, minimised for additive manufacturing; a 33/11 kV, 5 MVA outdoor transformer with nine radiator fins; a 2,000 litre jacketed bioreactor with dished heads and a top-mounted agitator. The design agent reads the brief and produces parametric geometry, not a picture, so dimensions can change and the model updates.
Variants, not a single answer
Each brief produces several variants that trade off differently, for example lighter against stiffer, or more pallet positions against lower height. They sit side by side with their key figure (mass, capacity, rating) so the engineer can choose where to start rather than accept the first result.
Checks that run before review
Checking agents test every variant and mark each finding on the model. Passed checks are green, issues red. On the bracket that means wall thickness against the additive manufacturing minimum, overhangs that need support, hole edge distance and peak stress. On a structural frame it means clashes between ducts and beams, column utilisation and parapet height against code. Each issue goes back to the design agent with a fix, and each pass keeps its evidence.
A drawing sheet from the same model
The orthographic views, an isometric and the title block are generated from the same geometry, so the drawing never drifts from the model. Exports cover STEP, IFC, DXF and PDF.
An engineer still signs
AI CAD shortens the path from brief to a reviewable first draft. It does not release designs on its own: every design needs an engineer's sign-off, and the checks show exactly what was tested. The tour uses sample models for each industry; for your team, Solnix connects your CAD and BIM tools and your design rules.
Frequently asked questions
What is AI CAD?
AI CAD is computer-aided design driven by AI: you describe a part or structure in words, a design agent generates parametric geometry and variants, and checking agents test the design before an engineer reviews it.
What does Solnix AI CAD check?
Examples include wall thickness and overhangs for additive manufacturing, hole edge distance and peak stress on brackets, duct-and-beam clashes and column utilisation on structural frames, nozzle reinforcement on pressure vessels, and leg utilisation on lattice towers.
Which formats does Solnix AI CAD export?
STEP, IFC, DXF and PDF, plus an auto-generated drawing sheet.
Does Solnix AI CAD release designs automatically?
No. It shortens the path from brief to a reviewable first draft; every design needs an engineer's sign-off, and the checks show exactly what was tested.
